In the thick of the COVID pandemic, taking on a major commercial shoot for Honda felt like a challenge tailor-made for our small but mighty crew of multi-talented filmmakers. We set out for Swing Arm City, UT, armed with high hopes and plenty of gear. What greeted us was a relentless onslaught of mud—thanks to a seasonal monsoon that had turned the desert silt into a muddy battlefield.
Let me tell you, those conditions tested not just our gear, but also our grit. The mud was treacherous, but we didn't let that deter us. Instead, we embraced the unexpected, churning out some truly epic shots that perfectly captured the rugged capabilities of the vehicle we were showcasing.
But this director's cut isn't just a testament to our technical abilities; it's a showcase of the artistic spirit that drives us. I'm especially proud of how we used David Lynch's poetic words and the haunting track "Weather" by WDL to elevate this cut.
Sure, the conditions were tough, but that just made the end result all the more rewarding. What could've been a messy situation became a testament of determination and creativity—a shoot that will stick with me for years to come.
